The notice on the door says the windmill was renovated as a contribution to the ‘Festival Of Britain’ in 1951.
I remember my Mum and Dad taking me to London to see the exhibition on the South Bank (Festival of Britain – Wikipedia). I was 8 years old at the time, just over seven decades ago… Time flies when your having fun !!!! I remember it as quite a spectacular event for its day.

I went to that exhibition too and remember it as being quite dull. I enjoyed the funfair at Battersea more. I have low tastes.
